Contains default configuration files to restore the SPD-SX PRO to factory settings including wave and kit.
¦What you will need to restore your SPD-SX PRO
- SPD-SX PRO
- A computer with a USB connector (Windows, Mac)
- USB Memory (Formatted to FAT32 or MS-DOS(FAT) on a computer in advance)
¦Cautions With The Update
When you execute the following factory restore operation, all parameter in the SPD-SX PRO will be overwritten.
If the SPD-SX PRO contains important data that you want to keep, save it to a USB flash drive before you proceed.

?Factory Restore Procedure
The complete factory restore procedure includes two steps in the following order.
- Creating a USB memory for updating.
- Updating the SPD-SX PRO to the original factory data.
- Open/extract the downloaded “spdsxpro_factory_data102.zip” file on your computer. A “Roland” folder will appear.
- Connect the USB memory to the USB connector of your computer.
- Copy the extracted "Roland" folder to the root folder of the USB memory.
* Copy the entire folder, not the contents of the "Roland" folder. - Un-mount the USB memory from your computer as follows:
[Windows]
Use the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the Windows task tray to unmount the USB memory and then disconnect the USB memory from your computer.
[Mac]
Drag the Drive icon of the USB memory into the trash in the dock and then remove the USB memory from your computer.
- Connect your USB memory to the USB MEMORY connector of the SPD-SX PRO.
- On the SPD-SX PRO, press the [MENU] button.
- Use the cursor arrow buttons to select “BACKUP” on the screen and then press the [ENTER] button.
- Use the cursor arrow buttons to select “LOAD” on the screen and then press the [ENTER] button.
- Use the [-] [+] buttons to select "1.Contents_V1020" on the screen and then press the [F6](LOAD) button.
A confirmation message will appear.
Use the cursor arrow buttons to select OK”, and press the [ENTER] button.
The original factory data will be loaded.
