The Best Sounds from the XPS-10 and XPS-30—and Beyond
Building on the evergreen sound set of the much-loved XPS-10 and XPS-30, the XPS-60 features an expanded selection driven by the latest Roland technology. Many new sounds are tailored for keyboard performances in India, including percussion sounds such as Tabla and kendang. Scene data can be exported and imported individually, providing a great way to share sounds with other XPS-60 players.
Add Global Instruments with the World Expansion Series
Want even more fascinating sounds? Then tap into region-specific sound collections from the World Expansion series on Roland Cloud. Each title includes new waveforms and tone data, allowing you to discover rare instrument sounds not in any synthesizer.
In 2023, Roland began an extensive World Expansion recording/sampling project. Indian sounds are the first expansion pack to be completed, with 69 new instruments recorded (santoor, sitar, harmonium, bansuri, pungi, sarangi, tabla-dholak, and more). These are divided into 4 instrument categories–plucked strings, sustained instruments, percussion, and Special Selection (combination of the first three). Special Selection is preinstalled on XPS-60, while the remaining categories will be available as sound packs for purchase in Roland Cloud Manager, the software hub for Roland Cloud content. Other regional recording projects are also currently underway, with more regional style packs expected later in 2025.
Built to Inspire
Like its predecessors, the XPS-60 offers fantastic portability, robustness, and playability. We’ve equipped it with the keyboard action found in the FANTOM-0 and other top-tier models, giving you an improved feel and wider expressive range. You can even power the XPS-60 with a rechargeable mobile battery for the ultimate grab-and-go convenience.
Fast Tone Selection and Sound Creation
The XPS-60’s well-organized panel and large display make it simple to access the features you need while performing. Call up tones with intuitive category buttons and save favorites for speedy recall. Then shape them with the dedicated Sound Modify controls and powerful effects. You can also split and layer tones, change the octave range and transposition, and apply arpeggio and chord memory functions with quick button presses. Once you’re done tweaking, save the complete setup within a Scene memory for one-touch recall on stage.
Versatile Audio Player
Using the onboard Audio Player function, you can reinforce your performances with backing music. Connect a USB flash drive with the desired WAV/AIFF audio files, then assign them to the eight phrase pads and launch them as needed. You can adjust pitch and playback speed independently for each file, perfect for matching a vocalist's singing range or adjusting the tempo to suit the moment.
Multi-Function Phrase Pads
The XPS-60 phrase pads are not just for USB song playback. Trigger onboard drum sounds or imported samples in real time. Or use the pads as handy part select and part mute buttons while working with the step sequencer.
More Accessible Scale Settings
Previously, user scale setups in XPS instruments were accessed at the system level. Now, it’s possible to set the optimal scales for each tone individually so they’re ready to go in your performances. When Transpose Sync is on, your custom scale settings will automatically follow the current keyboard transpose button setting.
Microphone Input with Vocal Effects
The XPS-60 features a high-quality microphone input with a panel level control and a range of effects, eliminating the need to carry external gear. There’s a dedicated vocal reverb, plus Auto Pitch for the “stepped” electronic vocal effect heard in lots of modern music. And with the built-in vocoder, you can use your voice to control the tone and pitch of sounds played on the keyboard.
Step Sequencer
The eight-track step sequencer is ideal for sketching song ideas and creating interactive backing with the XPS-60’s onboard sounds. The arpeggio function and built-in rhythms automatically synchronize with the sequencer, ready to bring fresh dynamic energy to your keyboard performances.
Connect with Computers and Mobile Devices
The XPS-60 is equipped with a class-compliant USB-C audio/MIDI interface, making it a snap to integrate computers and mobile devices into your workflow. This lets you perform and record with music apps or stream gig audio via your phone. Powerful computer DAW control is also included, allowing you to control various software functions from the XPS-60 panel.
