Bio

Armed with a bow and the fiddle Manoj has made a mark for himself in the Indian music arena as a composer, performing violinist and a collaborator. He is a Licentiate (LTCL) performer in Violin from the Trinity College of Music London. In 1996, he won the scholarship from the Human Resource Development, Central Government of India, New Delhi.

He the first Indian violinist to endorse Roland GR 55 in India. Highlights of Manoj’s concerts and performances include sharing the stage with renowned Violin Maestro Dr. L Subramaniam at the ‘Miss World’ in 2001, Opening Act for Canadian rocker BRYAN ADAMS with the band “Antaragni”, and headlining at the ‘INFECTED MUSHROOMS’ in 2008. He was invited to perform representing India at the “WORLD MILITARYGAMES” the next biggest World Games after Olympics. He was the cultural leader of Kerala and Lakshadweep NCC Directorate at the RD Camp held in New Delhi in 1990. Manoj has performed widely in India and across the world in US, Canada, the Europe, Africa, Far East and Midlle East countries, China & Colombo performing with various groups and acclaimed musicians like Hariharan, Shankar Mahadevan, Trilok Gurtu, Lucky Ali & Shivamani. His musical compositions are as varied as the influences that Manoj cites, ranging from the background score of the Malayalam film ‘Kharaksharangal’ which won the National award for the best children’s film in 2001 and various other regional films like ‘Aathmeeya’ a Kannada film, “Vaadhyaar” a Malayalam film, at one end, spanning through musical adaptations of Rabindranath Tagore’s ‘Card Country’ and his own solo Violin album titled “Lost For Words” which fuses various genres of music at the other end. The multitude of influences on Manoj’s musical character has given birth to the band, his brain child, “ManojGeorge4strings “a World-Fusion band and ‘New Wave Music Centre’ a music academy, creating new generation of musicians. Manoj aims to spread his music to different parts of the world, among different people and demographies and give back to the world of music as much as he believes he has received from it.
